Jesus and Judas sat down to tea in the Inbetween.
He said, “You know that I love you, so how can it be I must do this thing?”
He said, “Make no mistake you can’t outwait fate,
and free will isn’t free when there’s a price to be paid.”
Jesus and Judas sat down to tea after so much time.
Said, “Can you ever forgive me that I was the one to commit this crime?”
He said, “I looked into your heart up to the last minute
and I could tell from the start there’s no true malice in it.”
“But I have been wandering, so all alone.
The years pass so slowly, the casting of stones…
And every time that I close my eyes
I see your face, and it’s kissing mine.”
Jesus and Judas sat down to tea in the midst of pain.
Said, “Even if you forgive me, I don’t know that I can do the same.”
He said, “Love, just like the sea, it has no limit.
If you just put your foot in you’ll find you can swim it.
“And I have been with you every step,
my hand on your chest with every breath.
By every hair upon your head
I know you did not wish me dead.”
Jesus and Judas sat down to tea.
They cried so many tears that it drowned all the seas.
Found the deepest of loves is the source of the flood,
and the deepest of loves is the source of the blood.
And all was forgiven.
All was forgiven.
All was forgiven that day.
